Lake Manzanita trip

NBTU 2017 OUTING

This year's outing to Manzanita Lake Campground will be over the June

24th weekend.  Manzanita Lake is at the north entrance of Lassen Volcanic

National Park and about 4 hrs. from the Bay Area. There are opportunities

for fishing, kayaking, hiking and site seeing. Kayaks may be rented and float

tube fishing or small non-motorized boats are a great way to hunt down the

brown and rainbow trout.

Camping facilities include tenting, self-contained RV sites and sleeping

cabins near the lake.  Housekeeping cabins are available in Viola (10

minutes from Manzanita Lake).  For cabin reservations see

http://brokeoffcabins.com/prices.html.  NBTU will be hosting a 6 PM pot

luck on Saturday the 24th at campsite C11 (Starn).  You bring one item,

your drink and we will supply the BBQ meat and Settlers Beans.

Please send dinner reservations to gstarn@sbcglobal.net or 415 883-7447

so that we can plan dinner.

You must RSVP for the dinner.  We will send hatch information provided

by Fred Mack who will be on hand to assist with fishing. Hatch info will

be sent to those who sign up for the BBQ with George Starn.

It is imperative that you make reservations for camp sites ASAP as

there are a few left in C loop. B loop is first come but fills quickly. A loop

is booked.
